Since 2020, the Sodium Hydrosulfite / Sodium Dithionite production plant has been the first prototype developed and installed following the Esseco patent. Sodium Hydrosulfite / Sodium Dithionite is a key reducing agent used in the chemical, textile, and paper industries. The Esseco patent outlines an innovative production process.
Compared to the more common Mitsubishi process, the Esseco patent involves the purification of mother liquors through the separation of Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate, which is then reused in the production cycle.
This results in a drastic reduction in energy impact and the near-total elimination of environmental impact.
