A Century-Old Legacy
Our story began in the early 20th century, with the San Martino di Trecate (NO) site serving as the foundation for what is now Esseco Industrial – a global industrial chemistry enterprise.
2022 Merger of Zolfindustria (San Cipriano Po, PV) into Esseco. Launch of the Esseco Industrial division.
2024 Esseco strengthens with a new production-focused organizational structure. The Enartis brand becomes an independent company alongside other oenology businesses.
October 2024: First-ever Open Day at the San Martino di Trecate plant, welcoming citizens, institutions, and employees’ families.
2012 Acquisition of Idrosol (later Albite), a sodium hydrosulfite producer with commercial ties since 1969.
2017 Investment in a new sodium hydrosulfite production plant at Esseco’s Trecate facility.
2002-2009 Major projects for innovation and efficiency, including:
1996 Acquisition of Agrindustria (San Cipriano Po, PV), rebranded as Zolfindustria, driving global production and export growth.
1997 Eng. Francesco Nulli joins, later becoming CEO of Esseco Srl (2008). International expansion begins through key acquisitions.
1985 Vertical integration in the sulfur supply chain, expanding into trading and logistics for Italian refineries.
1988 Rebranding from Esseodue to Esseco, launching an acquisition strategy beyond Trecate.
1970 Eng. Piero Nulli joins, leading industrial operations and SO₂ derivative production.
1969 First sulfur dioxide (SO₂) production line from pyrite at San Martino di Trecate.
1963 Acquisition of industrial land in San Martino di Trecate for finished product storage.
1968 Major growth opportunity: Montecatini contract for liquid SO₂ supply.
1951 Company renamed “F.lli Nulli Spa”.
1958 Installation of fluidized-bed pyrite combustion furnace (cutting-edge tech) and catalytic sulfuric acid plant.
1941 Rebranded as “F.lli Nulli, successors to Ing. Cappuccini”. Wartime relocation of enological machinery to Treviglio, while SO₂ production continued in Milan.
Piero Nulli’s brothers join in commercial/administrative roles. Emanuele Nulli (industrial chemist) takes over technological development.
Origins trace to “Cappuccini Spa” (Milan Bovisa), shifting from refrigeration to SO₂ production under Eng. Piero Nulli.
